The Big Picture

These paintings grew from a long-held intention to translate the spirit of my earlier work to larger canvases. In the process I began working outdoors, where I became fascinated with the compositional possibilities of my own shadow falling on the canvas. 

Deeply influenced by weather and seasonal changes, these paintings explore an unconventional relationship with painting plein air.
